How to Easily Test HTTP and SOCKS Proxies

Proxies are not only used to protect privacy on the internet, on the other hand proxies have many uses, such as for data mining, ad verification, website testing, and even for SEO. Until now, there are many website services that provide quality proxies as needed.

Currently there are two types of proxies that are commonly used, namely: HTTP and SOCKS. Both types have their own advantages and disadvantages. And to use it is also very easy, because it is helped by a tool to set up a proxy.

On the internet there are also lots of websites that provide free proxies every minute. But not all of them can be used, because there are some that are not alive. Therefore, before using it, it would be better to check or test first.

Checking HTTP or SOCKS Proxy

There are several ways to check the proxy, and here I will share two of the easiest ways to do it. That way you won’t waste time just to find out if the proxy is alive or not.

1. Using Proxy Checker Sites

When searching on Google with the keyword “proxy checker“There will definitely be lots of websites that provide this feature. For example, on the Hidemyname site. On the website you can write many proxies and ports at once to find out the results.

The process for checking depends on the number of proxies that you write down. If there are too many, the process will definitely take a little longer. They also provide premium options to make checks faster with support multi-threading.

2. Using the ProxyChecker Program

Almost the same as above, where there are lots of programs to check proxies. But not all of it is safe to use, considering it is downloaded from less trusted sources.

But here I highly recommend using a program called ProxyChecker which is proven safe and available open source on Github. This program is also available for many OS variants, including Windows.

Using ProxyChecker Program

You can download the program via the Github site. Even you can do compile manual according to the instructions described there.

How to use the program is not difficult. You just need to collect the proxy list on file TXT and then put it in the program and run it. Later the checking process will run and you just need to wait until the loading is complete.

Conclusion

The two methods above are the fastest ways to quickly check or test multiple proxies. So instead of testing directly in a browser that doesn’t know whether the proxy is alive or not, using a proxy checking tool will be more efficient and less time-consuming.

If you have another way to quickly check the proxy, or maybe you have questions about the method above, please write it down in the comments column below.
